Embrace mother nature in all her glory with this miracle material. Advantages of Tencel Fiber: 1. Eco Print: Made from the natural cellulose found in wood pulp. The fiber is economical in its use of energy and natural resources, and is fully biodegradable. 2. Moisture Absorbent: This fiber has natural breathability and 50% greater moisture absorption than cotton. 3. Heat Capacity and Thermoregulation: Water has a high heat capacity. Therefore, fibers which contain water will also have a high heat capacity. This can be used to help the human body’s temperature regulation. On the water vapor absorption isotherm we have seen that tencel fibre always contains water. 4. Anti-bacterial: Due to its moisture management, Tencel is also anti-bacterial. Tencel has an extremely smooth, soft surface that drapes beautifully to flatter every figure. 5. Great for Sensitive Skin: Tencel’s smooth fiber surface feels soft and supple against the skin and its incredible wicking abilities keep the skin dry, making tencel a great fabric for sensitive skin. Fibers with poor water absorption capacity result in textiles which cling to the skin when they are wet. Wet skin is much more sensible to irritation than dry skin. The coarseness, the stiffness and the surface character of the fibers will also have an impact on the skin’s sensory perception. 6. Durable: This super fiber can hold up to a beating when both we and dry, and is most conveniently resistant to wrinkles. Disadvantage of Tencel Fiber: Tencel will shrink (approx. 3%) after its first washing but retain its shape after that. Tencel is more expensive than most eco fabric alternatives. Bamboo Bamboo yarn has become increasingly popular among knitters in recent years due to its eco-friendly properties and luxuriously soft texture. It comes from the Asian bamboo tree and can be harvested without actually killing the plant, making it a sustainable option. Bamboo has plenty of other great qualities; not only is it renewable and biodegradable, it also has hypoallergenic and UV protection properties. It has the ability to evaporate moisture, making it suitable for cool, breezy garments like shawls. The durability and flexibility of this yarn make it a preferred material among many knitters. Its natural elasticity and softness mean it’s ideal for creating summer garments and items for babies and toddlers too. All yarn skeins are one of a kind even though they are dyed according to the same recipe and in the same dye bath. This is what makes hand-dyed yarns so unique, just like you are. For dyeing, I have used professional fiber reactive dye that binds to the material so that the dye and the yarn become one. This makes the color extremely colorfast and fade-resistant. I have rinsed each skein thoroughly by hand, but despite that, a little bleeding can occur at the first wash, as it is with all hand-dyed yarn. If you are experiencing major issues with any yarn please let me know. If you need more yarn than there is available or if you want this color on a different yarn base, send me a message, I'm here to help you 💜
