The Hareline Spey Plumes are soft, small and flexible feathers that come from Ostriches. These feathers come in a wide range of beautifully vibrant colours that are ideal for Salmon, Steelhead, and Trout fly tying. Spey Plumes are very versatile and can add a lot of movement and colour to a fly pattern. The best thing about Spey Plumes is that they are not limited in their use. Fibres can be cut from the stem and placed in Petitjean’s Magic Tool or wound to make beautifully collard and patterned flies. You can also pull off individual strands to make tails or to add a hint of colour to a wing. On Nymphs you can use a single strand or use multiple colours of feathers to create bodies. Spey Plumes are also used extensively by the world renowned fly tyer Mikael Frödin and can be seen on his Tube Fly patterns. Common flies that have the Spey Plumes are the Black and Pink Tube fly, Sharp's Black and Blue and the Ostrich Sunburst Spey. These Spey Plume feathers come with approximately 10 feathers in a pack. The pack contains various lengths, with feathers ranging from 2 to 4 inches. They are available in 24 colours: Black, Flamingo Red, Flu Orange, Flu Yellow, Fuchsia, Ginger, Green Highlander, Heron Grey, Hot Orange, Hot Pink, Kingfisher Blue, Medium Dun, Natural, Olive, Purple, Red, Royal Blue, Shrimp Pink, Silver Doc Blue, Sunburst, Yellow, Brown, Chartreuse and Claret.
