Insul~Bright puts the FUN in functional! Pot holders, oven mitts, soft lunch sacks and casserole covers are simple, quick projects made functional and safe with Insul-Bright. US manufactured polyester fibers are needled through a reflective metalized polyester film. The needled material is breathable and won’t break down with washing. The polyester fibers resist conduction while the reflective metalized polyester film reflects radiant energy, hot and cold, back to its source. Insul~Bright is not recommended for microwave use. Insul-Bright’s metalized film makes a crinkly sound that is very attractive to babies and animals lending itself to soft books and toys for your pet but it’s kind of noisy for clothing. Insul-Bright Insulated Batting is a sewing notion that should be in every sewing room! Can be used for insulating COLD foods and well as HOT foods. If using to make potholders, Insul Bright Insulated Batting is Heat Resistant NOT Heat Proof. If your pan is above 400 degrees Fahrenheit, use two potholders. Insul-Bright is frequently used in table runners and placemats – we just recommend that Insul-Bright be paired with a layer of cotton batting (such as Warm & White or any cotton batting brand). The cotton batting layer is necessary for moisture absorbtion and added insulation.
