Use this moss as a safe and soft flooring for your spider enclosure. Sphagnum moss retains moisture which is why it is ideal to use in your jumping spider enclosure as it helps retain humidity & jumping spiders thrive in a humid environment. Please be aware that any environment that is humid and moist will always run the risk of mold growth. To prevent mold growth, it is extremely important that you have good cross ventilation in your spider enclosure as well as moving air in the room your spider enclosure is located. This will help maintain a humid and safe living environment. This moss is safe and natural, however, I can't control the conditions of your enclosure so therefore I cannot guarantee mold won't grow and cannot be held responsible if mold does grow. This is natural moss, so it does have a slight odor to it. If the odor is off putting to you, you can always set the mat outside to dry out before using it.
