Sudden transfer from hot to cold temperatures and vice versa can cause cracking There may be some variation due to the nature of handmade pottery HOW TO BREW THAT PERFECT CUP OF COFFEE Start with fresh filtered water just off the boil Pour a generous amount of water through your paper filter to rinse dust and preheat your jug, then pour away the water. Add fresh roasted coffee to your filter for the desired serving Pour enough water to just cover the coffee and allow it to drain Then pour water directly in the center of the coffee bed being careful not to over fill, Refill dripper to reach your measured cups of coffee At jstar handmade ceramics you will find a range of wheel thrown one off pottery home wares, all individual and unique, that perfect gift for special occasions and treats for you and your home. Created on a pottery wheel using stoneware or porcelain clay, when partially dry (greenware) they are trimmed and my potter’s mark added. It is at this stage that I create any designs on the clay by carving, slip trailing or adding sculpted pieces. Once bone dry they are fired at 1000 degrees centigrade in an electric kiln for over 24 hours (bisque). They are then glazed either with brush on or dipping glazes creating a unique design.
