Ryobi has come out with a cordless hot glue gun.

Model# Hybrid-120 glue gun operates on an 8 ft. AC power cord or an 18 Volt Ryobi battery (included with this model). The AC corded operation is a plus for projects that do not demand a great deal of maneuvering. The cordless option (using the Ryobi battery) will be essential but not limited to total freedom of motion, projects with hard to reach places and larger scale projects. Corded features: 120-Volt, 120-Watt, uses 8 ft.
