First Time Use In: -Water Softeners: Dissolve 2 cups of the powder in 1 qt. of warm water and pour into the brine well. For softeners with no brine well, pour into the salt storage tank when salt level is low. Manually regenerate the softener. -Backwashing Filters: Dissolve 3 cups (entire 24 oz. bottle) into 2 quarts of warm water and pour into media tank. Run water at a faucet near the system for 30 seconds to pull the solution into the media, then put the system into bypass mode. Let the solution sit in the tank overnight and manually regenerate the next morning. 2. Preventative Maintenance For: -Water Softeners: Add 1/2 cup to every 40 lbs. of salt added to brine tank, and layer it to ensure a continuous dose of Ban T during each regeneration. -Backwashing Filters: Dissolve 2 cups into 1 quart of warm water and pour into media tank every 6-12 months. Continue with procedure for first time use instructions. 3.
