Knitter's Pride makes a huge variety of beautiful needles, but the Royales are by far our very favorite, and the main variety we stock in our store. They are extremely well made with smooth, sturdy joins and flexible black nylon cables. Royale needles are unique in that they're a hybrid knitting needle with a birch wood body and metal tips, combining the in-hand comfort and stitch gripiness of wood with the benefit of metal tips that won't wear down or split, while also helping you get into your stitches quickly and easily. The wood bodies are color-coded for every size, so no matter the length all your 8's will be red, and all your 5's will be yellow, etc., making it easy to pick your needle at a glance. But by far the coolest thing about the Royale needles is their cords, which allow the needle tips to freely swivel 360 degrees, meaning that your cords never kink up on themselves and you have a full range of motion for stitching. They are a revelation for doing magic loop, eliminating the need to wrangle the cord into a position that won't stretch out the looping points! I never truly loved doing magic loop until I tried it on these swivel cord needles! *Please note: Royales are not made in sizes smaller than US 2.5 because of their special swivel hardware. Also, we only stock sizes 11 and up in the 40 length because general feedback from our customers is that the chunkier needles are unwieldy and can cause hand strain in the smallest circumferences, so it is best to have one 40 needle and use it with the magic loop method to achieve other circumferences.
