I wanted a easy to grip miniature painting holder that would let me paint miniatures comfortably, and facilitate spraying batches of models. Often while painting, I may need to varnish between layers of paint, and transferring miniatures from a painting handle to a separate spraying system caused wasted time and energy. Worse still, it is not economical to use a spray can on a single miniature at a time when batch painting. Sooooo.I made this. The system currently contains a 40mm diameter cylindrical painting holder with a removeable rotating top, and a spray painting base that can hold six of the holder tops. Painting holder tops and bottoms contain a recessed hole for a 5x1mm magnet. You can also glue a 40mm steel disc to the top for a more secure magnetic connection. To connect the tops to the bottoms, you can use either the included T-Pin (allows secure rotation), or the straight pin. Simply glue your pin of choice into the holder base. If you are using PLA, I recommend Weld-On 16 or super glue. The spray painting base slots the same pins as the holder bottom. You can glue the T-Pins into the base, and freely swap your holder tops between the holder base and the spray base. There is also a pin hole in the bottom of the spray painting base so you can attach a holder bottom if you desire a handle (use a straight pin for this). All parts of the kit are FDM printable without supports, and any future updates and addons will be included for free. **Basic Assembly instructions:** *To make a holder* - 1. Print one each of 40mm_HolderBottom, 40mm_HolderTop_Split, and the pin of your choice. - 2. Check the fitment of your pins before gluing anything. Sand the pins if needed - 3. Glue the pin into the holder bottom. - 4. Glue the two halves of the holder top together. The side with the hollow should be facing toward the bottom piece. If using a T-Pin, only apply a thin line of glue around the outside of the hollow area to make sure the T-Pin has room to rotate freely. *To make a spray base:* - 1. Print 1x SprayHolderBase and 6x 10mm_TPin_85mmHigh - 2. If you want a handle, print 1x 10mm_StraightPin_60mmHigh and 1x 40mm_HolderBottom. - 3. Check the fitment of all of your pins. Sand them lightly if needed. - 4. Glue the six T-Pins into the top of the base. - 5. If using a handle, glue the straight pin into the spray base and the holder base. **Some important notes:** - 1. The tolerances are tight for the pin slots. Like 0.4mm (one line width) tight. Depending on your printer settings, you may need to lightly sand the pins for them to slot into their holes and rotate freely in the tops. - 2. The tolerance for the magnet holes are also similarly tight. You may need a 5mm drill bit to open up the hole depending on your printer settings. - 3. The spray base holder will just barely fit diagonally on a Kobra/Kobra2 (220mm x 220mm) bed. If your bed is smaller than this, you will need to split the file in half
