Hello again! It’s Nabaa from @whimsical.doodles on Instagram. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like the end of the year is always super chaotic and busy? Everything around me seems like a struggle against the clock. In all this craziness I haven't had too much time to play around in my journal lately. This means loads of blank pages in my notebook for the year. If you’ve got blank journal pages and can’t for the life of you figure out how to fill them in, this post is for you! Before we get started, let’s talk about journaling supplies! Here are the list of supplies I most often use: Recommended Bullet Journaling Supplies: Archer and Olive Notebook – These notebooks are perfect if you’re looking for pages that don’t ghost or bleed! Pencil and Eraser – These are my absolute must-haves Decorative Touch (optional) – Now decorating your journal is entirely up to you but I really like decorating mine and would highly recommend the Acrylograph pens if you’re looking for an easy way to add colours to your journal! P.S., remember to use my affiliate code WHIMSICAL10 on all your Archer and Olive purchases for a discount! With that out of the way, here are 8 creative ways on how you can fill out your bullet journal pages – 1. CREATE AN ILLUSTRATION Your monthly cover page doesnt need to be the only focus piece! Creating a simple illustration using your monthly theme colours or designs is a fun way to use up blank pages. [Image credit: @whimsical.doodles] 2. ADD A QUOTE Write down a lyric from your favourite song or a quote that resonates with you! This spread by Amiza is another fun way to fill in a blank page. [Image credit: @amizaomar] 3. ABSTRACT DOODLE Doodling can be a super fun and quick way to fill in your notebook. Not to mention the added bonus of it being a relaxing way to spend your time! Here’s an example of easy abstract doodles: [Image credit: @whimsical.doodles] 4. ADD A REFLECTION PAGE Adding in a reflection page for your thoughts, intentions, or ideas is one of my favourite ways to add spreads in my journal. I love using a little envelope scrapbook style spread like the one below to write quick “letters” to myself! [Image credit: @whimsical.doodles] 5. CREATE A SWATCH PAGE One of my favourite things about trying out new supplies is creating a swatch page! Paints, pens, markers, or even washi tapes, you can create swatch pages for almost anything! [Image credit: @whimsical.doodles] 6. MAKE A GRATITUDE LIST It's been a pretty crazy year and I for one am grateful for a lot of things. Having a gratitude list is a great way to reflect on all the positives around you and can help you focus on the good when life is just a tiny bit crazy! [Image credit: magicalbujo] 7. PRACTICE YOUR FONT Whether it’s brush lettering, calligraphy or any other font type, dedicate a page solely for practice. [Image credit: @pine.jungle] 8. MAKE A LIST This can be a list of anything and everything! A list for your dreams, to-dos, recipes you want to try, personal goals, a wishlist, a bucket list, the possibilities are endless! [Image credit: @heraldeecreates] I hope this post has inspired you to fill in those blank pages! I’d love to see what you guys come up with so make sure to tag me @whimsical.doodles and @archerandolive! P.S., use the hashtag #shareao for a change to be featured on our new community page @munity!
