Use it as a pincushion or as a pretty bowl filler, table, or shelf decoration too! Pincushions make great gifts for anyone who loves to sew, or is just starting out! You can't have too many pincushions! I have multiple pincushions for different sized pins, and separate ones for needles. This nicely sized pear is made of pretty coordinating cotton fabrics. The top two thirds is filled with fiberfill, and the bottom is filled with crushed walnut shells. This serves the dual purpose of stabilizing the pincushion so it's not easily knocked over and keeps it from moving away from you when you take or insert pins. The crushed walnut shell area can be used to clean and help keep your needles and pins sharp too! I love a multitasker! Attention to detail doesn't stop there! The leaf is double felt and hand embroidered with a cute leaf stitch and edged with a blanket stitch. The stem is hand sewn in coordinating fabric. Both the leave and stem are hand sewn to the pear and further adhered with strong glue to make sure they are on for good!
