This is a vintage 1940s era, maybe late 30s, blue felt ladies hat made by Stetson in a quasi fedora bonnet style. Stetson had traditionally been a men’s hat maker, but, in 1932, began to produce women’s millinery. The hat has a rounded crown with matching band around the base and a downturned brim. It is decorated with coral red beads in a pattern that circles the left side front of the hat, along the edge of the brim and up around the crown. The sweatband is printed with the Stetson coat of arms and reads “Select Stetson”. The sweatband measures 21” around. I normally wear a size 7 and it fits me, but is a little snug, so it may be more of a 6 7/8, size small. It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, staining or odor. This is a rare example of a Stetson ladies’ hat - great addition to a collection!
