And check back every 1st of the month!!+++ I love using Harrisville Design’s quality cotton loops, but sometimes, there are colors I want that they don’t carry! So I dye my own from their pure white loops. These lovely spring and summer colors are hand dyed and specially chosen. For each of our colors, I have included pictures comparing them to Harrisville’s colors so you can get a good idea of the shade. Please remember that these colors may look different due to differences in monitors and even what kind of lighting you see them in once you get them (warm light, cool light, inside, outside, etc.) I have done my best to show them accurately. See below for more info on each color. All are treated to reduce any bleeding, and I haven’t seen any, but as with all colored items, I do recommend hand washing in cold water and a gentle soap and laying flat to dry, at least for the first several times. Also, I dye in small batches and cannot guarantee that each batch is absolutely identical. You will receive 36 loops, enough for you to make one traditional-size potholder. I'm transitioning from plastic bags to a more environmentally friendly option, so you may receive either. For clarity: By traditional size, I am referring to the loops required for an 18x18 hook loom which results in an approximately 6” finished potholder. The loops therefore are approximately 7” loops. Notes about colors: 1. Pretty Pink-This is a truer pink than Blooming Dahlia (which has a peach tone). Bright, but sweet. 2. Blooming Dahlia-a light peachy pink. I like it with Harrisville’s Carnation. 3. Juicy Cantaloupe-a light orange with a totally different tone than Harrisville. Looks so fruity, especially with Minty Breath or Creamy Avocado. 4. Sparkling Sun-again, a totally different tone than Harrisville yellows. It is a pretty pure yellow. 5. Bumble Bee-a richer, slightly more golden yellow than sparkling sun. 6. Creamy Avocado-a light, yellow-green 7. Green Apple-a more true light green. It looks good with Harrisville Green, but is great too with Sparkling Sun for a lemony look. 8. Minty Breath-a light green with a slightly grayish tone. Looks great with Pine, or as a light leafy green. 9. Sea Foam-I aimed for a shade between Minty Breath and Copper Patina. Looks good with both. 10. Copper Patina-a deeper grayish green with a little blue tone. Looks nice with Minty Breath or Harrisville’s Pine. 11. Beach Glass-a very pale turquoise. 12. Topaz Blue-a shade or 2 darker than Beach Glass. The two look amazing with Harrisville‘s Turquoise in an ombré design. 13. Big Sky-a beautiful baby blue with a truer blue shade than Harrisville’s pastel blue. 14. Misty Blue-a very light denim blue. 15. Faded Denim-a shade or 2 darker than Misty Blue. The two look great with Harrisville’s Navy for an ombré. The saturation is a bit varied, but I really like it as it looks even more like a pair of jeans. 16. Orchid Mist-A light purple with a warmer tone than Harrisville’s Lavender. I think it pairs well with Plum. 17. Lovely Lilac-a fun, warm & bright pastel purple with a deeper shade than Orchid Mist. June: A color between our Blooming Dahlia and Harrisville’s Salmon, it screams beach to me. July: A rich, earthy orange, like a pumpkin or a carrot. August: Inspired by a favorite sweater, this mauve is one of those that is so difficult to describe. 1 part purplish pink, 1 part gray. Even the picture is hard to make accurate! September: A gold with a hint of green. Chartreuse, really.
