For beginners, I can conduct lessons in English initially, so even if you're completely new to Japanese, it's not a problem. You can also ask questions in English. Hello, I'm May, a certified Japanese teacher. I was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan. I speak standard Tokyo accent, so I can also teach intonation. My hobbies include traveling and experiencing foreign cultures. I enjoy learning languages (English, Chinese), practicing yoga, reading, and I love cats. I've been teaching Japanese with GENKI textbook using this indirect method: teaching Japanese in English( & Japanese) for beginners. Most of my students have started as total beginners,but they have tried hard reviewing, and now they can understand Japanese characters,and talk in Japanese. I'm really happy to see their improvement. I have two courses available for those who want to learn Japanese using English: Beginner Course using GENKI': This course focuses on grammar and conversation, and I teach using English, so it's suitable even if you're completely new to Japanese. It's designed for people who are serious about studying Japanese. Japanese for Travel: This course teaches simple and useful Japanese phrases for people who plan to visit Japan. Knowing Japanese can make your trip more enjoyable.This course is good for from mid beginners to high beginners.(not for complete beginners) Here's how the lessons are conducted: I use PowerPoint slides with lots of pictures and visuals to aid in understanding. Additional background: I studied English, phonetics, and linguistics at university, and I have worked extensively in the field of language learning. I have experience communicating with foreigners due to working in an international environment. I'm here to support you who wants to start learning Japanese. Japanese language is unique and very different from English or any European languages. I belive learning new language will broaden your world. Let's exploer the language journey together.
