Art Masking Fluid
Art Masking Fluid is made from pigment and latex and can be painted on paper and over dry washes of watercolour to preserve layers which can be revealed later. It has a slight yellow tint to make it easy to see, but it should be removed as soon as possible to avoid staining. Mask an area of work, let the fluid dry and then paint a wash over it. Afterwards the Masking Fluid can be easily rubbed off to reveal the protected paper or paint underneath. Also, it can be flicked off the end of a brush, overpainted and then removed for a speckling effect; similarly, it can be rolled out roughly on large areas of paper to protect the surface in a textured pattern. Several effects can be achieved by experimenting with the application of Art Masking Fluid.
