In LOST and FOUND My Cross-Stitch Hoops #1, Karmin found some cross-stitch hoops that were the perfect new building blocks for her next sculpture. She always tries to use found objects as much as possible for the bases of her sculptures. Karmin uses dyed wooden reeds which are first straight. ONE BY ONE BY HAND she twists, curls, spirals, turns, and curves each reed that you see within the sculpture. She then puts all these curls, spirals, shapes, and colors together ONE BY ONE BY HAND to develop a sculpture that is bursting with color and movement. In this medium size wall sculpture Karmin attached two different shaped cross-stitch hoops to create one abstract shape. This sculpture is made to hang three different ways on the wall depending on which way appeals to you most. Attention to detail and her knowledge of color is evident in creating this sculpture. She used cool colors to create a soft gentle look, yet added a few iridescent blue vinyl curls to add a pop of excitement.
